Freeze Thaw is proud to offer both Demo and Rental bike services.  Demo fees are applied towards any FTC bike purchase, while rentals are charged at a daily rate.

Decisions, decisions…  It can be really tricky to pick out the perfect new mountain bike.  Many online and magazine reviews all sound the same after a while.  There are quite a few different bikes that all have their merits.  How can you be sure you’re making the right choice?  The Freeze Thaw Demo Program is designed to help you choose the perfect bike for you and your riding style.  We keep an impressive selection of high-end hardtail and suspension bikes on hand for real demo rides.  And we don’t mean 15 minutes of pedaling around town & campus.  We’re talking about hittin’ the trails to really let you feel how these bikes perform underneath you.

Here’s how it works:  Demo bikes are $75/day and this fee is applied to any future bike purcahse at FTC. This allows you to try multiple bike setups if needed and make comparisons before you decide on your new ride. Any bike on the sales floor with red tape on the handlebar is condidered avaible for demo.

These bikes also serve as our Premium Rental Fleet, available for $75/day (rental fee does not go towards bike purchase). This is a great chance to experience Rothrock State Forest or the Allegrippis Trails at Raystown while visiting the area without your own bike.

Currently we have the following Demo/Premium Rental bikes built up and ready to ride:

Niner Jet 9 (29" full suspension, 80mm rear travel) in Large and Medium. 2 x 9 gearing and a 100mm Reba Maxle (L), 120mm Fox F29 15qr (M).  BOTH ARE CURRENTLY FOR SALE: Medium is $2775, Large is $3375. Parts kits can be swtiched between the two frame sizes at no extra charge.

Trek / Gary Fisher Collection 2012  Rumblefish Elite in 15, 17, 19 and 21". Fox 15qr fork with DRCV, Shimano SLX disc brakes.

2012 Salsa Mukluk 2 in Medium (17") black. This bike is desgined for snow and any other adverse conditions you may encounter. 82 mm wide rims and nearly 4" tyres make these super fun trail bikes even in dry weather. Available for sale any time, discount will reflect amount of use at time of sale.

2012 Surly Moonlander  in 18" with the most sparkly paintjob ever! 100mm wide rims and a new wider Larry tyre allow for ultimate flotation. Stock build featuring the new Surly Mr. Whirly Offset double crankset and modern 9 speed thumb shifters. Available for sale any time, discount will reflect amount of use at time of sale.

Surly Pugsley in 16, 18 and 20" white.  Stock build featuring 3 x 9 gearing, BB7 brakes and original Large Marge rims. Available for sale any time, discount will reflect amount of use at time of sale.

Surly Pugsley custom IGH in 18" white. Shimamo Alfine 8 speed internally geared hub, Surly Nate tyres and SLX 180mm disc brakes. This is J.Wag's personal demo - see what can be done for a custom Pug and have us build one for you!

Surly Pugsley Necromancer in 18". Jordyn's personal demo with some serious mods from the stock 2 x 9 build. Check out the new 45 North Husker Du tyres!

Yeti ASR 7 in Medium. Super plush, yet efficient with 7" front and rear travel. Take it to your local DH spot or on an all-day Rothrock adventure. Lightly used as demo, CURRENTLY FOR SALE AT $2975 - original retail of $4200.

Trek Fuel EX (26" wheels, 5" f & r travel) in 15.5" - 19.5" sizes across several models. Perfect trail bike for our rocky Central PA trails.

Trek X-Cal  (29" wheels, geared aluminum hardtail) in 17.5". 100mm suspension fork, 3x10 gearing, hydraulic disc brakes.
